There are many great apprenticeships out there, even if this one is not for you. Take a hard look at yourself to determine if you’re a good fit. We take this stuff seriously, and we ask that you do the same. This is a characteristic we expect of all Sparkboxers, and if you make it into the apprenticeship, you’ll see that we learn as much from you as you do from us. You have to be willing to check your ego at the door and do what it takes to improve. Having a strong desire for knowledge is one thing-being willing to hear authentic, constructive criticism (and do something about it) is another. To be successful in a career doing web stuff, you have to be continually learning-you have to be hungry for knowledge. The folks who make it to the final round all have a tremendous hunger to learn, and they back it up with their own experimentation. We receive a good number of applications for each apprenticeship. This will be a key consideration in our review process. To this end, we give you the opportunity on the application to share how you will bring a diverse perspective to the apprenticeship. One way we can grow is by including more teammates who challenge our worldviews and ways of thinking. You’ll also have a couple projects behind you and the knowledge to tackle what’s next. During that process, you’ll learn to code your concepts like a pro, using Sass to help write, manage, and compile your CSS.īy the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have the skills to function as a full-fledged frontend designer. We’ll guide you through the iterative design process, point out things to keep in mind, and help you arrive at a compelling visual concept. You’ll start by learning to write semantic HTML and CSS and quickly progress to working on projects where you create wireframes and interface design.
